BHULI BHATIYARI KA MAHAL

Let's enter the heart of Delhi, where Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal, an ancient monument, lies amidst the city's chaos. This structure, once a fortress, now stands silent, carrying tales of its past. Imagine exploring its corridors, each corner hiding a secret. Join us as we unravel the story of Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal - a journey filled with ghosts, hidden treasures, and the mysteries of history.

Bhuli Bhatiyari ka Mahal is situated close to the busiest market of Karol Bagh, Delhi. This structure is allegedly the most haunted place in Delhi. There are no gates, but you can see a board at the entrance warning you not to visit here after sunset.

It's a haunting relic, said to have been built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th century at the heart of Central Ridge, Delhi. It's located in a forested area giving it an eerie feeling.

So, how did the place actually get its name and why is it said to be spooked?

THE STORIES BEHIND THE HORROR

Legends suggest it was named after Bhulli Bhatti, a caretaker though the name got twisted into Bhuli Bhatiyari. Some say that a saint who resided in the palace before, mysteriously disappeared and that is when the ghosts invaded the place. Another claim says that a neglected queen, Bhatiyari has been cursed by a faqir which made the place cursed. some say that there was a lady who came to this place wandering in search of something and breathed her last there.

Also, it is believed that inside the mahal lives a queen who had died 600 years ago, and that her ghost is seen here at night. Another tale says that a person named Boo Ali Bakhtiyari ruled here, and the place was named after him later people modified the name to Bhooli Bhatiyari for ease of pronunciation.

Another says that a woman named Bhuri from the Bhatiyar tribe in Rajasthan lost her way and reached this palace. One day, Muslim ruler Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq came here. He was thirsty, so she offered him water and he named the place after her name, and since she had forgotten her way, it was named Bhooli Bhatiyari. When Bhuri died, she possessed this place. But if the historians are to be believed this was built in the 13th century by Tughlaq as a lodge or shelter to rest while he was on the hunt. Bhooli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal is under the Archaeological Survey of India and is currently being restored. People still come here in huge numbers, expecting to meet the ghost.

Is it a Myth or an unsolved mystery?

However, none of these versions are backed by any physical or literal evidence and can be considered mere theories. Some said that this place is so spooky, that no guard has been able to work here for more than one day.

And that screams of women and children as if they were getting beaten up can be heard at this spot, making this place amongst the top haunted places in Delhi.

Amidst the silence of the forest and the rustle of leaves, one can't help but wonder: are the legends mere stories, or does Bhuli Bhatiyari hold truths waiting to be unearthed? Venture forth, if you dare, but heed the warnings—some mysteries are best left undisturbed.

IT'S BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY!
